NHS England charges.
From the 1st April 2018 the price of an NHS prescription will rise to £8.80 per item. As we prescribe within the NHS guideline of 28 days, patients on regular medication will have 13 issues per year, costing a minimum of £109.20.
The cost of prepayment certificates has not risen remaining at £29.10 for 3 months or £104 for 12 months. It is therefore financially beneficial for all patients that pay to purchase a prepayment. The prepayment covers all NHS prescriptions including those issued by a dentist.
