From the 1st April 2019 the price of an NHS prescription will rise to £9.00 per item. As we prescribe within the NHS guideline of 28 days, patients on regular medication will have 13 issues per year, costing a minimum of £109.20.
The cost of prepayment certificates has not risen, remaining at £29.10 for 3 months or £104 for 12 months. It is therefore financially beneficial for all patients that pay to purchase a prepayment. The prepayment covers all NHS prescriptions including those issued by a dentist.
Depending on your circumstances it is possible to be exempt from prescription payments. This could be for a chronic medical condition or if you are on the NHS low income scheme. For more information please click on the button below or speak to member of our dispensary.
The easiest, quickest and safest way to request your medication is online. To use this service you will need to register by bringing in a form of photo identification and proof of address to the reception/dispensary, and a member of the team can then issue you with your own unique registration details.
You can also order medication via the practice email address:
Alternatively you can complete the counterfoil from your repeat prescription and place it in one of the boxes inside the practice (located outside the dispensary and pharmacy) or at the front and rear entrances to the building.
Please allow up to 3 working days to collect your medication from the dispensary or up to 5 workings if you are collecting it from an external pharmacy. Requests received after 2pm will not be processed until the next working day.
If an urgent prescription is required then the patient, or representative, will need to come into the practice and complete an urgent medication request form at the dispensary. The completed form should then be handed back in for a dispensary team member to process.
If medication is required on the same day, this form will need to be submitted BEFORE 4pm. The prescription will then be ready for collection, from the DISPENSARY, between 5pm and 6pm.
