Care Quality Commission Report - 3rd Sept 2015

Easter Opening Times

Please be aware that the practice will be closed on Friday 30th March 2018 and Monday 2nd April 2018 for Easter. Please ensure that all medication requests are handed in before this time to ensure that you will not run out over the Easter break. Also do not forget to stock up on essential medicines so you can treat minor illnesses and injuries at home. Medicine cabinet essentials include pain relief (paracetamol), cough and sore throat remedies, upset stomach treatment, heartburn and indigestion treatments and a first aid kit.

Minor Winter Illnesses

Don’t swallow up your NHS - use it wisely this winter.

Every time you visit your GP it costs the NHS £45.

You can treat minor winter illnesses such as colds and coughs, sore throats, and upset stomachs easily at home with medicines, which you can easily buy at low cost from your local pharmacy.

Additional Triage Services

North Brink Practice is working towards adding additional triage services to our standard process. Our goal is to help direct patients towards self care where necessary, allowing us to free up appointments to those patients who have chronic and on-going illnesses. With the winter months now here, many of the illnesses that you will face (eg colds, coughs, sore throats and diarrhoea/vomiting) can be treated through self care and by visiting your local pharmacies. During the triage process we will ask patients a series of questions and direct appropriately. Rest assured that if we believe your illness requires attention from one of our clinicians then we will book you into the appropriate clinic.
