Electronic Repeat Dispensing

Electronic repeat dispensing is a process that allows us to automatically issue a batch of repeat prescriptions for a maximum of 6 months or until you need to be reviewed. The prescriptions are then available for collection at your nominated pharmacy.


Using ERD has a number of benefits:


  1. Saves time - by using ERD this means that you do not need to request your medication every month; instead your prescription will be ready to collect when needed from your pharmacy.
  2. Easier management - ERD is easier for the NHS to manage, meaning that medicine use stays safe, effective and efficient.
  3. Reduced costs - processing fewer requests could save the NHS £millions each year in manpower and resources.
  4. Reliable, secure and confidential - unlike traditional prescriptions, electronic prescriptions can not get lost between us and the pharmacy.


Note: This service can only be used for regular monthly items. If there are specific items (such as creams/inhalers) that are only used as and when required then these will not be prescribed automatically and will need to be ordered manually.

Restricted access to the rear car park

There was an incident over the weekend where part of the wall in our rear car park collapsed. The rubble has been cleared however, to ensure both patient and staff safety it has been decided to restrict access for cars to enter the car park. Patients can still walk in and enter via the rear entrance however they will need to park in the Chapel Road car park. One of the gates has been closed and barriers have been erected to guide patients around the hazard until we are able to have the wall fully inspected and repaired.
