NHS Prescription Charges & Exemptions

From the 1st April 2023 the price of an NHS prescription has risen to £9.65 per item.

The cost of prepayment certificates has also risen to £31.25 for 3 months or £111.60 for 12 months. It is therefore financially beneficial for all patients that pay to purchase a prepayment. The prepayment covers all NHS prescriptions including those issued by a dentist. 

Depending on your circumstances it is possible to be exempt from prescription payments. This could be for a chronic medical condition or if you are on the NHS low income scheme. For more information please click on the button below or speak to member of our dispensary.
