From the 1st April 2020 the price of an NHS prescription has risen to £9.15 per item. As we prescribe within the NHS guideline of 28 days, patients on regular medication will have 13 issues per year, costing a minimum of £109.20.
The cost of prepayment certificates has not risen, remaining at £29.10 for 3 months or £104 for 12 months. It is therefore financially beneficial for all patients that pay to purchase a prepayment. The prepayment covers all NHS prescriptions including those issued by a dentist.
Depending on your circumstances it is possible to be exempt from prescription payments. This could be for a chronic medical condition or if you are on the NHS low income scheme. For more information please click on the button below or speak to member of our dispensary.
